Cottone Auctions offers a number of different ways for you to participate in the auction process.

In Person Bidding

You can attend the auction and bid from the floor.

Absentee Bidding

Absentee bids can be left one of four ways.

  • Attend the preview, and leave an Absentee Bid Form by filling out an Absentee Bidding form.
  • Telephone one of our representatives. Please call (585) 243-3100 and leave your bids.
  • Download, fill out and fax an Absentee Bid Form. Our convenient Absentee Bidding form is available as a Microsoft Word Document, or Adobe Acrobat PDF file which you can print, fill out and fax to: (585) 243-9067.
  • Go to our secure online Absentee Bidding form. Once you submit your form you will be contacted by a representative of Cottone Auctions via phone to confirm your bids. You must place absentee bids more than 24 hours before the auction.

Payments

Cottone Auction’s buyers premium is 17% and will be added to the hammer price of each lot. There is a 2% discount if payment is made by cash or pre-approved check. Visa & Master Card area also accepted. (Checks are considered "pre-approved" if you have done business with Cottone Auctions in the past & are in good standing. Otherwise, a bank letter of credit, cashier's check, money order or wire transfer may be used.) Cottone Auctions recommends that you pre-approve your check if you plan to use this payment method. We ask for your patience as your purchase will be released upon notice that your payment has cleared. All purchases are subject to an 8% NY State sales tax, unless a valid NYS resale certificate is filed with Cottone Auctions.

Terms and Conditions

Cottone Auctions makes every effort to correctly describe all items on our website and in our catalog. However, we are not responsible for errors or omissions in the cataloging or oral condition reports. A buyer has 30 days after the sale date in which to notify Cottone Auctions with questions regarding authenticity. Cottone Auctions does reserve the right to make verbal corrections and/or provide additional information from the block during the sale. It is the sole responsibility of the buyer to request a condition report & be well informed of the merchandise prior to placing a bid.

The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion in determining the successful bidder, or he may re-offer the disputed item for sale if he so wishes.

Absentee bids will be executed in a competitive manner by a representative of Cottone Auctions. Absentee bids will not be executed on items which are found to be other than described in the catalog.

Cottone Auctions is pleased to accommodate your requests for additional information and photographs, however, your personal examination is always preferred when possible. It is the responsibility of the bidder to examine lots and decide on their level of interest. We have most items available for private preview usually one month before an auction, by appointment or during our posted preview hours prior to the auction. Lots are sold as is. All sales are final.
