Pair of Chinese Carved Marble Taoist Priests -

18th/19th C. Benevolent priests in long flowing robes-headresses-elongated ears denote wisdom. One holds alms basin, the other holds long piece of cloth, denoting servant 's role. Provenance: The Strong National Museum of Play- Displayed in Mrs. Strong's garden, she purchased the pair from John Wanamaker, New York in 1941
