Cottone's American Furniture and Americana department offers pieces from the 17th through the 19th centuries, covering the William and Mary, Queen Anne, Federal, Classical, and Victorian periods. Cottone has had strong record prices for two 18th century carved side chairs, from Philadelphia and Boston, both sold for the historic Wadsworth family of Geneseo, NY. An outstanding children's portrait executed by William Matthew Prior has highlighted the folk art category, along with boldly decorated stoneware by makers such as Stetzenmeyer, John Burger, and T. Harrington.
