Sgn. '87 Rickey, 1 of 3. Stainless steel. Richard F. Brush Collection, Rochester, NY. Richard F. (“Dick”) Brush is one of Rochester’s leading philanthropists. Born in Massachusetts, Dick grew up in Rochester, the son of a Universalist minister and later founder of the Sentry Group, a maker of safes recently sold to Master Lock Company, a division of Foster Brands Home and Security, Inc. An inveterate collector (much of the work acquired during worldwide travel), Dick’s love of 20th century American art is evident is his collection of work by Alexander Calder, Richard Diebenkorn, Albert Paley and, perhaps his favorite artist, George Rickey."
