Letter & telegraph dated Feb. 8th, 1890 from General William Tecumseh Sherman. Certificate of Record that certifies Lieut. Colonel Francis A. Schoeffel. Some of the battles he included, Blackburn’s Ford, Virginia from July 18th, 1861; Siege of Yorktown, Virginia, April 5th to May 4th, 1862; Seven Days’ Battles, including Mechanicsville, June 27th, Gaines’ Mills, Cold Harbor, and Chicahominy, June 27th, Peach Orchard and Savage Station, June 29th, White Oak Swamp, Glendale or Charles City Cross Roads and Malvern Cliff, June 20th, and Malvern Hill, July 1st; Fredericksburg, Virginia from December 11th to 15th, 1862 (with the main battle fought on the 13th); Richard’s Ford, Virginia, December 30th to 31st, 1862; to his final battle at Chancellorsville, May 1st to 5th, 1863.
