Early Samuel Kirk Silver Ewer

Circa 1830. Mark of Samuel Kirk, Baltimore, 1830-1846. Marked 'S.K.' and '11 oz' in cartouches. Heavy repousse floral work with grey hound form handle and a vacant cartouche in the front. Weight: 58.3 troy ounces.

Note: Samuel Kirk was a silversmith who introduced the repousse technique to the United States in 1828.
