Rare Late 19th Century English Chess Trophy Clock

Late 19th century. Mahogany case, gilt bronze mounts, silvered dial. engraved sterling silver plaques denoting the winners of the Sussex Chess Association tournaments between 1893-1921. 8-day 3-train time and strike movement has 8-bells and the numbers '432'.

Note: The clock was used as a trophy for the Sussex Chess Association. It was presented to the winner each year until 1921 when it was given to Mr. Stephenson after he won it 3 years in a row. It stayed in the family until it was given back to the club and was known to be there until 1966. At one point it came to the US where it was eventually restored by John McLemore who was the subject of the podcast S-Town, and it is included in the book celebrating his work.
