Richard's Chronosphere Clock with Moon Attachment

Circa 1900. (Signed) Richard's Chronosphere in an oval cartouche with Patent 19460. The 6-inch globe is made up of twelve lithographed gores with countries, principal cities, Russia (depicted as the 'Russian Empire'), the North Pacific, major topographic features, steamer routes, and other details. Supported on a clockwork-driven rotating polar shaft on a turned support. Fitted for the Roman hour scale annotated Meridian ring, and an upturned arm supporting a brass lunar sphere. The top finial has a curved hour pointer on a drum-shaped plinth base containing a French made eight-day movement stamped 'Made in France'.
