Ithaca, New York, circa 1815. Cherry and curly maple case, beautifully carved pillars and scrolled top. Beautiful reverse painted tablets. Painted iron dial. 8-day time and strike weight driven brass movement. Note inside clock from 1930 reads: "This clock was made about 1825 by Joseph Burritt who learned his trade from a famous watch and clock maker in New Haven, CT. The latter and Mr. Burritt put up the big clock in the Yale tower in New Haven, CT. This information was given to me by Mr. Burritt's granddaughter, who lived in Ithaca, NY.
