Rare French Conical Mystery Clock

Description: A rare c. 1860 white onyx, gilt-bronze and patinated spelter conical clock.
Case: The decorative white alabaster case has gilt-bronze mounts and supports a patinated metal statue of Jason holding the golden fleece and a staff.
Dial: The engine-turned gilt-bronze dial has applied Roman numerals for the hours and steel-cut hands.
Movement: The 8-day time and strike movement has countwheel striking on a bell and carries the 1855 Japy Freres Stamp, the eagle stamp and is numbered '56575'. The multi-piece conical pendulum is suspended by a thread and is pushed by the small detent at the base of the statue.
