Bengt Lindstrom was a Swedish contemporary artist known for his colorful paintings, sculptures, murals, and outdoor decorations. His distinctive style featured bold colors and distorted, expressive figures, often inspired by monsters and gods from Norse mythology. Lindstrom studied in Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Chicago before moving to Paris, where he worked with renowned artists Fernand Leger and Andre Lhote. His work was influenced by the expressive style of the CoBrA movement and became widely recognized through exhibitions and large-scale public sculptures. One of his most famous works is the massive Y-sculpture at Midlanda Airport near Sundsvall, Sweden, and his art is held in major collections including the Centre Pompidou, Modern Museet, Carnegie Museum of Art, and Tate.
