Details:
Kathe Kollwitz was a German Expressionist artist renowned for emotionally charged prints, woodcuts, and sculptures addressing human suffering, war, and social injustice. Born in Konigsberg, Prussia, and trained in Berlin and Munich, she gained early acclaim with her series The Weavers (1898) and became associated with the Berlin Secession. Shaped by personal tragedy and steadfast pacifism, Kollwitz continued producing art of profound social conscience despite persecution under the Nazi regime.
