American, 19th century. Coin silver and sterling silver, one piece with a mother-of-pearl handle. Struck on the reverse with the incuse maker's marks 'ROOT & CHAFFEE' and 'J.L. MOORE', a number of pieces additionally struck with a small pseudo-hallmark device, many engraved with script initials or a monogram to the terminal. Comprising thirty-five pieces. Weighable silver: 34.33 troy ounces.
